Photos, information and travel guides for your stay.
Pogradec is the eleventh most populous city in Albania and the capital of the eponymous municipality. It is located on a narrow plain between two mountain chains along the southwestern banks of the Lake of Ohrid. Its climate is profoundly influenced by a seasonal Mediterranean and continental climate. The total municipal population is 46,070, of which 17,371 is in the municipal unit as of the 2023 census.
As you step into the town, you'll be greeted by the serene waters of Lake Ohrid, which is considered one of the oldest and deepest lakes in Europe. The lake is surrounded by lush green mountains that create a picturesque backdrop for your stay in Pogradec. The town itself is a mix of old and new, with traditional houses and narrow cobblestone streets coexisting with modern cafes and restaurants.
One of the must-visit attractions in Pogradec is the Driloni National Park, which is located just a few kilometers away from the town center. This beautiful park is a perfect place for a picnic, a stroll, or a bike ride. You can also take a boat ride on the lake and enjoy the stunning scenery from a different perspective.
